The Fire Horse is Coming: Why We Traveled to Mount Putuo for Your 2026 Talisman

There is a concept in the East called Qi—the flow of energy that moves through everything.

As we look toward 2026, the energy is shifting dramatically. We are leaving the introspective Snake year and entering the year of the Fire Horse (Bing Wu). In Chinese astrology, this only happens once every 60 years.

Imagine a wild horse galloping through a field of fire. That is the energy of 2026. It is passionate, fast, and transformational. It’s a year for big leaps and career breakthroughs. But let’s be honest: for many of us, that kind of intensity can also feel chaotic. It can lead to burnout.

That is why, at Art Chinese Design (ACD), we didn't just want to sell you a "lucky charm." We wanted to bring you an anchor.

A Pilgrimage to the "Kingdom on the Sea" 

To prepare for 2026, our team traveled to Putuoshan (Mount Putuo), an island dedicated to Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.

It’s hard to explain the feeling there unless you’ve walked its paths. The air smells of sandalwood incense and sea salt. The sound of waves crashing against the rocks mixes with the low, rhythmic chanting of monks from the Puji Temple. It is a place where time seems to slow down.

We went there to seek "Qifu" (祈福)—a traditional blessing ceremony—for our 2026 collection.
