The Story of Design

1. Why I Made This Scarf
"I'm an embroidery artist working with Suzhou techniques. Customers kept asking for pieces they could actually wear in winter—not just display. So I decided to blend traditional embroidery with warm wool, creating a scarf that's both practical and beautiful."
2. How It's Made: Slow Stitching on Wool

"Embroidery on thick wool is tougher than on silk. Each flower is stitched by hand—petal by petal. It takes about two days just for the embroidery, but this makes the patterns durable enough for daily wear and washing."
3. The Meaning Behind the Flowers"
I chose plum blossoms and orchids—classic symbols of resilience in our culture. They're subtle but meaningful. The design is simple enough to match both coats and casual jackets, because art should fit real life."
4. The Size That Actually Works

"After testing different sizes, we settled on 200cm × 60cm. It's long enough to wrap comfortably, but not too bulky. The wool is soft and non-itchy—you can wear it directly against your skin."
5. Perfect for Gifting or Treating Yourself
"We pack it in a leather gift box because many buyers give it to moms or friends. It’s not just a scarf; it’s a thoughtful gesture. The more you wear it, the softer it gets."

The History of Suzhou Embroidery

Suzhou embroidery (苏绣), with a history spanning over 2,000 years, is one of China's four renowned embroidery styles and a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage. Originating from the ancient Gusu region, it is celebrated for its 'fine, even, dense, and light' characteristics. Artisans use incredibly fine silk threads to create lifelike images with subtle color gradients, often depicting nature and classical paintings. This art form represents the pinnacle of Chinese aesthetic refinement and patience, where a single masterpiece can take months or even years to complete.
